More information about World Peace Pagoda
This stupa is made from pristine white color symbolizing inner peace showcasing the classic design of the traditional pagoda style architecture. The striking color of this pagoda helps in spotting the pagoda from long metres away. It is 115m tall in height and 344 feet in diameter.
In order to reach stupa, visitors need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the top of the striking monument. It consists of the two tiers in the structure with separate passages to circumambulate. The house of stupa shows the relics of Buddha along with the four statues of the Lord Buddha which represents the significant events in his life.
These statues were rewarded and received as souvenirs from the different nations through the vision as a helping hand to promote peace in the entire global world. The second tier of the stupa represents the milestones of Buddha's life and these four statues are gifted by four countries includes ‘Dharmachakra Mudra’ which was gifted by Japan, ‘Kushinagar’ from Thailand, ‘Bodh Gaya’ from Sri Lanka and ‘Lumbini’ from Nepal. On the top of it there is a pinnacle also called Gajur holding the crystal stone which was imported from Sri lanka. This stone symbolizes grace and intellect. Under this Gajur there lies a Dharmachakra signifying the wheel of life, Buddha's teaching about Dharma etc.
There is also a prayer hall located near this stupa where many rituals are performed on this special occasion by the devotees for prosperity and self-liberation through the spiritual awakening to enter their life karmas transforming into divine formation for peace.
All these idols have their characteristics and importance. Buddhist pilgrims stand before the statue and chant Trivandhana—Buddham sharanam gachchami, Dhammam sharanam gachchami, and Sangham sharanam gachchami.
Near the World Peace Pagoda on the hill is a small cafe where you can drink tea and shelter in bad weather.
